Only one person gets to shoot at a time, so you must be fast to get a shot in. The closer you shoot to the center, the more damage you do to your opponent.

Smoking Barrels also has the option to buy different guns and items, each with their own helpfulness. Lighter guns allow you to move the gun faster, but if you don't have quick reflexes, you will not be able to get to the target because you will have overshot it. After a certain level you must buy specific gear, such as cowboy boots, to enter a fight. This means you must budget your money so you don't overspend on things like newer guns, if it means that you won't be able to buy the things that you need in order to play.

If you have a few hours to kill, Smoking Barrels might be a great way to spend it. It is the best game of it's type, and the music adds to the Western feel of it all. The Western shoot-out has never been so fun.
